Interview Tip Tuesday
Send a follow up thank you email within 24 hours of your interview and out time, thought and effort into the email. Include a recap highlights or takeaways of the interview, how you can impact the company, your interest in the opportunity/team/company and a closing statement with a follow up action.
Spend time with your new hire
On the new hire’s start date, Take them to lunch or have lunch delivered to them and do a zoom lunch together. Invest time getting to know your new hires personally. It will positively impact them, make them feel important and show that you care. It will impact their performance. Set up a team lunch within the first week so they can get to know the team. Make it fun.
New Hire Welcome Packets
What should be included in a new hire welcome packet? Why should you provide a welcome packet? They make them feel welcome, set expectations and provide important info. They also help the new hire to be organized especially since starting a new job can be overwhelming. Here are some items to include: * Welcome letter * Benefit information * New hire paperwork * Company values and history * List of team members and contact info * Company directory * Systems they will be using along with their usernames and passwords * Schedule for the first day, two weeks and first month * Acronyms and their meanings that are used within the company * Training info if applicable
